“Bikram Yoga” Flatiron Vs. “Hot Yoga” Flatiron
The terms “hot yoga” and “Bikram yoga” are more than often used interchangeably, but they don’t really mean the same thing. Here, at Hot On Yoga in Flatiron, we are happy to keep you informed.
Bikram yoga is done in a room with a temperature of 41°C and 40% humidity. This kind of yoga is made up of 2 breathing exercises and 26 poses, which should be done in the same order for every session. Such sessions should last around 90 minutes.
Hot yoga, is different from Bikram yoga, in that the room is just heated above the normal room temperature. The instructor may set the temperature – which is normally between 27°c and 38°C – to what they deem fit.
The sessions include various poses, and the time for each session may vary from one studio to the other. Additionally, hot yoga may include interaction among the ones practicing it, as well as some music, unlike Bikram yoga which is not only more serious but also quieter.
